Dance Instructor
"There are so many benefits to
dance.”
Monique Chilcutt, B.S. Health w/Dance Minor
Monique has over 22 years experience in teaching, directing, choreographing and performing,
working with all ages from four to adult. Monique has danced with many professional companies
here in Sacramento: Jazzworks, Sacramento Kings Dance Team, Sacramento State Dance
Team (Director), Pulse Dance Ensemble (Director/Dancer), and currently Full Circle. Monique
has been working for the past two years at Cast and Company Dance Alliance, with children 6-
10 years. Currently she is teaching aged 4-10 children at Hawkins School of Dance.
Monique has choreographed several children’s productions in Vancouver, Canada, at Green Oaks Elementary School, and at Claire’s Montessori. She has been teaching dance at Claire’s Montessori for two years. She has two children, once a previous student and the other currently attending Claire’s Montessori. Monique is also a Kindermusik instructor working in Sacramento and Folsom.
Monique’s philosophy is that there are many benefits to dance. These include developing self
esteem, motor skills, imagination, creativity, social skills, and learning to count bars of music. It
is a form of activity on days when physical activity is limited, perhaps by adverse weather
conditions. It can be a stress reducer and promote better focus in the classroom.
