Founder & Director
“Each child is unique and should be treated with respect as an individual.”

Claire Ghattas is the owner and administrator of Claire’s Montessori School. Claire was born and raised in Jerusalem, and was an executive secretary in her Country of origin. When her children were in their teens, she and her husband moved to the United States to further her children’s higher education in America.

In 1994 she started a small school in her own home. In 1998, to meet the expanding needs of the children in her care, and to provide the same nurturing academic environment to a larger number of children, she decided to buy a larger property. This became Claire’s Montessori current school.

Training and Professional Development

Claire received her American Montessori Society (AMS) training through the Montessori Teacher College, Sacramento. Furthermore, she is a member of the International Montessori Council (INC). Claire has had Management training through AMS and has also completed the Resources for Infant Educators (RIE) training alongside two of her infant and toddler teachers. The RIE is a training specializing in infant care. The RIE manual is available onsite as a valuable resource. Claire has continued to deepen her understanding of Montessori philosophy by attending conferences and workshops every year.

Personal Philosophy and Goals

It is Claire’s belief that each child is unique and should be treated with respect as an individual. Her primary goal is to give your child every opportunity to build self-esteem in a successful school environment. To this end Claire has provided Montessori training to her teachers, at no cost to them, to ensure all of her staff consistently understands the Montessori philosophy. She has upgraded and continues to renovate the physical facility in order to provide the pristine environment that children deserve. She has added, and will continue to add, new enrichment programs to the curriculum to maintain the cutting edge approach needed to carry our littlest ones through the 21st Century.
